Jann O'Leary Costa, a former college professor, has been involved with alternative therapy for over 10 years. She has been an avid horse person for over 25 years, and competes locally and nationally in cutting horse competition. In 2005, she rode Magics My Dad, to championships in Pennsylvania and Area 19, and was named Top 100 in the World. In 2008 she and Magic captured Top 10 honors in Versatility at Equine Affaire in Springfield, Mass. She is married to cutting horse trainer and former Champion bull rider, Johnny Costa. Jann combines the use of herbs with light and magnetic therapy to support the whole animal. Together, they have incorporated therapy into the training program at JC CUTTING HORSES. They feel that many training and behavioral problems have physical roots. By applying principles of therapy to horses in their training program, they are more successful and have fewer injuries. Their system of training, No Stress Horsemanship™, has been producing happy, successful champions in the show ring and as family companions. Jann also lectures at local horse expositions and area
riding associations.
"It's hard to talk about just one of Equilite's products. I have had great success with so many of them: Ani-Motion, Citrus CQ, Four Hoofs and especially Sore-No-More - my all time favorite. If I could only have one product in my barn, that would be it. But most recently I have been using the Sore No More Cooling Clay Poultice. I have been using it both with and without wraps to treat our cutting horses preventatively. We haven't had to inject any hocks and our horses are all sound, even our 25-year old who still competes."
"I use a laser system which employs a heat finder to locate inflammation in an animal. I like to show the horse owners where the heat is, and how high the temperature reading is at the time. Then, I spray the horse with Sore No More Horse Liniment and wait about 5 minutes. I can rescan the horse, and the heat will have dropped; some times as much as 10 degrees by using the Sore No More horse liniment."
"We had a 6 month old Appaloosa colt brought to the farm. Within a very short time, we realized he had a real vision problem, which my Vet confirmed. After speaking with an App rescue, they suggested we try a routine of aspirin therapy to reduce the inflammation in the eyes. I decided to try Citrus CQ Supplement, for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and being buffered would pose no threat to the colt's stomach. After a few weeks on the Citrus CQ, the colt showed a marked improvement. He continued to improve over the next few months, to where my Vet admitted he would be safe to trail ride. The owners were able to take him home, where he is leading a normal life." ... Jann O'Leary Costa
