Rain Rain Go Away
Sore No More's The Sauce is the best natural alternative to keep thrush and Rain Rot at bay.

Iodine is a key ingredient in an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial preparation. The Sauce is Sore No More's Arnica based liniment combined with Povidone Iodine. It is highly effective in combating rain rot, scratches, skin fungus anywhere on the body and for thrush and abscesses of their feet.  Use it as a sole paint to help toughen up sensitive soles if the footing is hard and rocky.

The Sauce is the first Herbal Sugardine Dressing on the market. The farriers have resurrected the old time remedy; sugardine. Sugardine is an old time remedy of mixing iodine and sugar to form a paste that is then applied to open wounds, abscesses, or resected hooves to reduce inflammation, infection, and healing time. Simply add sugar to make a hoof packing for abscesses and thrush. This herbal dressing combined with sugar may be one the most effective sugardine combination yet.

The Sauce has been combating rain rot, thrush and skin fungal issues successfully for many years.

USEF clarifies its rulings on liniments
SNM confirmed legal to use during competition. Read more for details. Thanks USEF!

USEF clarifies use of topicals as directed by manufacturers as safe to use prior, during and after competition.

Recent developments around the world have created confusion and misinformation as to the position the USEF was taking as it related to topical liniment applications. The news should resolve questions that competitors have had for all topical products.

In a recent conversation with Dr. Stephen Schumacher, Chief Administrator, Equine Drugs and Medications Program, United States Equestrian Federation; Dr. Schumacher made it clear to James Ruder, Equilite's Director of Operations; that a clarification of the drug and medications policy was in order. James Ruder notes; "the recently released statement has given back to the equestrian community a huge gift -- a sense of clarity regarding the products they can use for the care and treatment they provide their animals as it relates to topical applications."

Dr. Stephen Schumacher's recent release clarifies the USEF position on liniment ingredients. The USEF stated "As a practical matter, provided the products containing these substances are administered only topically and as recommended by the manufacturer, there is no need for restricting their use during competitions under USEF rules. However, if these substances are used inappropriately (e.g., in a manner other than topically), this could result in a positive finding in the blood or urine of the horse, which would be a potential violation of the rules."

In correspondence between Dr. Schumacher and Mr. James Ruder, Dr. Schumacher stated, "We are not equipped to release information about every liniment on the market as there is an incredible array.  However, be assured that when contacted about Sore No More (by Equilite), this office will assure our members that when used as recommended, this product will not be the source of a positive finding with its current formulation."

This past 2008 Olympic event saw some disqualifications for banned substances using capsaicin, a compound known to impact nerve cells.

Equilite’s Sore No More® does not contain capsaicin and should not to be confused with any product containing capsaicin.

This is great news for all Sore No More users! Thank you USEF!

Ricochet Horse Spray
Keep Them Shiny and Smelling Great All Summer Long Also Availablie In Convenient Wipes

In the recent review on Topicals and Horse Sprays, the Horse Journal reviewed a vast array of products, combining all-natural and chemical products. They were testing to see how well the products worked in the summer heat and under hard working-sweaty conditions.

“These sprays were primarily judged in their ability to stay working even when the horse started to sweat heavily.”

Their comments about Ricochet were; “A great herbal spray with a refreshing citrus scent and the power of a chemical formula.  It performed well in hot, dry conditions, with sweaty horses."

Their Bottom Line stated: "If you want a natural spray, we recommend Equilite’s Ricochet Horse Spray.  This product smelled great and proved effective in hot and sweaty conditions.  It hung tough on the worst days, and it caused no negative skin or hair reactions in any of the testers.”

The Ricochet Horse Spray is also available in 32 oz. spray, Gallon Refill Container and the new Ricochet Wipes-handy towellets infused with Ricochet liquid.

Cesar Parra and His Team Score High
The Proud Coach and his Performance Farm Team are back up north and doing well.

The Performance farm team has successful reunited its FL snowbirds with the northern contingent and a few of us have started to venture out to the region 1 and region 8 shows.  Starting our spring season with success were Dominique Cassevetis and Debbby Savage who finished 1st and 2nd in the junior test and GP respectively with very good scores at the Buck's County horse park two weekends ago. Congratulations!

This past weekend, Julie McKean, Anna Stovall, Katie and I (with the huge help of Susie Belanger!) ventured north to Westbrook, CT and had fantastic weekend. Julie won the Young Riders with her Stravinsky both Saturday and Sunday and Anna placed both days with a really nice tests and good scores on Taunia Reed's Narok.  Katie won her 4th level class on Michael Davis' Dancing Queen on Sat and was barely edged out on Sun to finish 2nd.  But DQ looked beautiful and I can see PSG in her near future.  After these results Cesar was a very proud coach!

Cesar was riding Florence in the 6 yr old class whom he co-owned with Dr. & Mrs. Morgan,  as well as Dr. Lori Washton's Olympia.  Florence continues to shine and adds everytime to her fan club, "I couldn't be happier with her. She won the young horse division both Saturday and Sunday.  Olympia was really fantastic, and was happy winning the PSG on Sat with 71+%, but Sunday I was even happier as we won the Intermed 1 with 75%! Highest score of the show.  To say that I was thrilled with the whole team's results is an understatement! ."states Parra

Congratulations to the owners and riders!
